Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. His father’s name was Dinanath Mangeshkar who was a skilled and capable stage singer. Dinanath ji started teaching music to his daughter Lata ji when she was 5 years old. Along with him, his sisters Asha, Usha and Meena also used to learn music.
